HARVEST TIME IS HERE!

‘Tis the season already – bringing in the first of the grapes today, Viognier and Roussanne.  Welcome Fred Golin to the winemaking staff.  He has over 30 years experience down at Foley Winery in the Los Olivos wine region….loves to be here for all our Paso Reds! ….and of course, following grapes will be our 3rd olive harvest.  Never a dull moment and keeps every member of the Rio Seco family busy.  Em, Trav, Cait and Quinn represented Fusano Olive Co. at the 1st annual Sylmar Olive Festival over Labor Day Weekend.  Three days of olive mania, crafts, car show, food booths – Quinnie came back a little “gypsy girl” for sure.

FUN FALL EVENTS!
Can’t hardly be RIO SECO without a party on the schedule.  Mark your calendars now for their Harvest Festival Weekend special events.  Along the Union Road Wine Trail will be their “Sip and Sliders” afternoon 12-4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 20-21st, at each of the wineries. It’s that time again!  Riverbench officially brought in their first grapes of the season on Friday, August 24- Pinot Noir for their rose sparkling wine.  They typically harvest a bit earlier for the sparklers.  With the warm weather, they should be going strong in just a week or two.  Always wanted to be a part of wine grape harvest?  Join them for this weekend’s Vineyard Walk and find out more about everything that’s going on with the Riverbench team.
