Winter Wine Stroll Tickets Go on Sale – 14 Specially Selected Wines with Gourmet Pairings

Saturday, January 17th the tasting rooms of downtown Paso Robles will host A Winter’s Wine Stroll from 3-7pm.  14 rare wines and barrel samples paired with gourmet hors d’oeuvres will be served to guests as they stroll the charming sidewalks of Paso Robles’ award-winning downtown.

This will be the 2nd semiannual wine stroll hosted by the downtown wineries.  Each tasting room will pour a specially selected wine.  This wine can be a reserve bottle out of their library, a winemaker’s choice, or a barrel sample of a future release.      Guests can expect a surprise or two along their stroll.  A little music, and a little dancing might lift those winter spirits, with the help of a little wine of course.

Tickets are $20.00 per person.  Guests will receive a commemorative downtown wineries glass, and the opportunity to sample each tasting room’s winter favorite paired with something delicious.  Tickets can be purchased by visiting or calling any of the downtown tasting rooms.

Guests are welcome to stroll through the tasting rooms anytime between 3 and 7pm. If you find that 7pm comes too soon, join our Winter Wine After Party from 7-9pm at a downtown tasting room to be announced the night of the event. They will be serving a special flight of wines along with passed appetizers for an additional fee.

The Mid-summer Night’s Wine stroll in early July was a huge success for the downtown wineries.  Over 175 people caroused the streets of downtown Paso Robles, sipping on rare wines and barrel samples and enjoying the warm summer air.  Aged reserve Cabernets as well as barrel samples of Tempranillo Port were on the menu this last summer.  The tasting rooms offered everything from tiramisu to gourmet pizzas.  “WAITING FOR QUOTE from July guest” The downtown wineries couldn’t wait another year to host, so they have decided to recreate the event for January 17th 2015.

The wineries are in close proximity to eachother in the epicenter of downtown Paso Robles.  They are neighbors and quite neighborly.  The collaboration of these small businesses is a breath of fresh air in the world of wine competition.  You can often find the owners of these tasting rooms out on the sidewalk chatting with one another about the day.  This tight knit relationship between tasting rooms has created a wine lovers haven in the streets of downtown Paso Robles, and they have truly created an event that is enjoyable, affordable and most of all memorable.

The crowd is expected to be a combination of central coast locals as well as out of towner’s.  Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday is on the 17th and a three-day weekend is the perfect excuse for a getaway to wine country for many people.  Tickets are expected to sell out, and people are encouraged to call or visit any of the tasting rooms downtown to purchase tickets.  A list of tasting rooms and their phone numbers can be found at www.downtownpasowine.com or you can call (805) 610-9953 for more information.

Hope to see you on the “stroll!”

Until the next drop.
